No Contest between George Mathewson and Tony Blair on the Economics of Scotland

Bill Walker“Can anyone now take seriously Tony Blair or his ‘Stalinist’ Chancellor, Gordon Brown, after his pathetic attempt to discredit Sir George Mathewson last week?” asked William G Walker, SNP Council candidate for West Fife and Coastal Villages at last Monday’s West Fife meeting.

“Sir George is possibly Scotland’s greatest living businessman. He built up the Royal Bank of Scotland into a global player after successfully heading up the Scottish Development Agency. Yet, Tony Blair described Sir George as ‘not a real businessman’, ‘self-indulgent’ and ‘absurd’ for daring to suggest that Scottish Independence would be good for our economy and the future of our country.

Len WoodsLen Woods in his address to a packed constituency AGM at East End Park last Thursday night pointed out that never before had there been such a scent of victory in the air.

He declared: “The SNP policies offering choice, hope, higher expectancy of and from life were winning over the people. Compared with the negative sneering and scare-mongering from the unionist camp, our Independence policies offer the refreshing new prospect of self-determination.
