Concern surrounding the possible closure of
Ward 16 at Dunfermline’s Queen Margaret Hospital continues to cause concern in
the local Fife community. Dunfermline MSP Bill Walker remains fully in favour
of the retention of the Ward as an integral part of the palliative care
provided by NHS Fife. In a statement issued today, Bill stressed that he will
continue to campaign for the retention of Ward 16 and that the closure of the
Ward would “put intolerable pressure on patients and their family at what is
already a difficult time.”

"Labour Hypocrisy over Queen Margaret Hospital"
By Editor on Monday 20 June 2011, 23:13
A Statement from Bill Walker, SNP MSP for
Dunfermline:
I read with considerable surprise, as would many others, the recent comments by Labour MP, Thomas Docherty, in the press about the future of Hospice Ward 16 in the Queen Margaret Hospital.
He seems to have conveniently forgotten that it was his Labour Party that, in his terminology, downgraded the Queen Margaret Hospital here in Dunfermline. This is another example of his Party and their sheer arrogance in self denial about the so-called economic "global crisis" that they helped create.
